It's been a while...

Yes, it's been a long while!! The thing that I like to share with you is what has been keeping me off this blog!! Managing 3 teams can truly get out of control. Not just in our little world, but in the greater scheme of things. I've inadvertently annoyed other coaches, I've underpaid referees, I've even said a few things to the other teams parents that - in hind sight - probably shouldn't have been said...but never mess with a mother of an overly aggressive 8 year old. He needs someone to stand up for him - although he does a pretty good job of it himself. I suppose that's the problem.

So we've had our share of wins and losses but so far, all 3 teams are doing quite well. Outdoor soccer ends at the end of this month. Then on to Futsal. Friday night indoor games on a basketball court. I'll have 5 teams to watch as each of the older 2 kids teams have been split. I suppose I could just watch my own kids, but when you feel like you have 38 sons and daughters you kind of get committed!!!

So we went camping again - with about 9 families from our subdivision.  There had to be at least 30 kids there - of course we brought 7 ourselves - keep in mind that technically we only have 3!! So, we represented our neighborhood and had lots of fun Father's Day events - and I did it all on crutches - at times.  I got pretty sick of them and had to sneak around with out them.  Dave put kids on me to take turns watching me and to make "siren noises" when I didn't obey!!!  Anyway, had lots of fun and still love camping - even on one leg!!

OK - so that great friend I was telling you about found a soccer template for me.  She says she works, but she's on this thing an awful lot!!!  Anyway, I'll make some changes and it should be back up.  Thanks for looking and for bearing with me while I figure it out!!!

\Welcome to my blog

A really good friend of mine is totally into photography.  She takes the best pictures.  Then she created a blog and writes the coolest stuff about the life of her 4 children.  I thought everything was so neat that I bought a high tech camera so I could take pictures just like her.  Guess what, it's not the camera...it's the photographer.  Then I decided to create a book just like she had - again...the photographer.  So, now I'm making a blog.  I figure that it's got to be easier since I have one less kid and...well...how hard can it be???  I guess we'll have to wait and see.  

So, I hope you enjoy seeing a few updates on the life of the Slack's.  It'll be filled with lots of pictures of soccer - so if you get disinterested, feel free to delete whenever you want.  We really don't know anything else but soccer and we figure the whole world has to LOVE it as much as we do.  We live in a soccer dream world!!
